MD LOGIC PATIENT KIOSK AND ICD10 – A WINNING COMBINATION

14 June 2015

As the deadline for ICD10 approaches, healthcare providers now have less than 110 days to prepare for the new government mandate. Beginning October 1, 2015, all diagnosis will need to be coded to ICD10. That means all established patients will need to be treated as new patients and have their problem list updated to comply with ICD10 codes. The good news for MD Logic customers will be the ability to use the MD Logic Patient Kiosk to collect this data and comply with ICD10.

MD Logic, the leader in high performance EHR solutions was the first EHR company to introduce Kiosk technology to the healthcare market and help doctors further automate the collection of health data. As patients arrive for their appointment they will be handed a touch screen tablet where they will be able to touch-in their current and past medical history. The past medical history will be linked to the new ICD10 codes. These codes will be automatically updated in the patient’s electronic health record for the physician or healthcare provider to review.

Utilizing the MD Logic patient kiosk to automatically capture the patients past medical history will save several minutes per patient. For a physician that schedules 30 patients a day, the amount of time saved would equate to an hour or two each day.
