Throughout the United States and internationally each day, physicians and mid-levels are documenting patient care in the exam room using MD Logic. As the patient visit is being completed in the exam room, the diagnosis and CPT codes (charges) are automatically being updated into the MD Logic Practice Management Software.

It is hard to believe that it has been two years since the release of the MD Logic “real time preview” feature. This feature enables our clients to view the clinical record (progress note) “real time” as the encounter with the patient is being created.

It was back in May 2017 eClinicalWorks (ECW) became the first EHR vendor to pay a fine totaling $155 million to resolve a False Claims Act lawsuit alleging that ECW misrepresented the capabilities of its software. As many clinics continue to struggle to meet the MIPS requirements for reporting, many have just given up on MIPS and will focus on seeing more patients to make up for the loss in income.

If your clinic is still scanning documents that were created by the clinic (patient registration forms, HIIPA forms, promise to pay forms, surgical consent forms, etc.) and not utilizing MD Logic Bar Coding Software, you are wasting precious time each day. The MD Logic Bar Coding Software generates a bar code on all patient documents required to be completed or signed by the patient.

If a patient has a balance due they will typically be sent a paper statement at the end of the month from the clinic. The patient statement will breakdown the recent charges and payments to the patient account. To ensure the fastest and most convenient payment option is available for the patient, clinics must provide online patient payment options. Simply offering a link for patients to enter a credit card payment is not efficient enough.

Automating internal clinic communication (memos) can be tricky and cumbersome for many clinics. For that reason, many clinics rely on sending emails to staff members to communicate information that is not patient specific. With email communication, the clinic is not in complete control and able to confirm the communication was received and reviewed by the intended staff member.

Over the past ten years medical practices have adopted new technology in hopes of saving time and increasing efficiency. Heavy emphasis had been placed on the back office and EHR in hopes of increasing efficiency for the physicians, mid-level providers and back office staff. What many practices fail to consider when choosing an EHR is how the EHR Software will manage all tasks, follow-ups, phone calls, meeting, and interoffice communication in the practice.

Over the past few years the majority of our established customers have begun making the change from their in-house server based solutions to MD Logic Cloud based solutions. The value offered with MD Logic Cloud far outweighs the headaches and costs typically associated with implementing their own in-house servers.

MD Logic is pleased to report that our customers easily able to comply with the new MIPS reporting requirements. The MD Logic EHR Software is implemented in over 20 specialties of medicine from coast to coast and internationally. The MIPS reporting for 2017 was to be submitted to a registry 03/31/2018. To simplify the MIPS reporting process, MD Logic customers were provided a preferred reporting registry to report MIPS.

In review of the support calls received at the MD Logic Corporate Headquarters during the 1^st QTR of 2018, our records indicated that over 95% of all incoming support calls received an immediate support representative when calling for support.
