On-Demand Eligibility

On-demand eligibility is especially helpful when a patient arrives as a walk-in or does not already have a scheduled appointment in the system. In these situations, staff can simply select the patient, choose the Check Eligibility option, and the patient’s information is electronically sent to the claims clearinghouse. Within moments, the practice receives a confirmation regarding the status of the patient’s health insurance coverage, allowing staff to quickly determine whether coverage is active before services are rendered.

Automated Eligibility

For scheduled patients, automated eligibility adds another level of convenience and efficiency. Several days before the patient’s appointment, MD Logic can automatically send the appointment list to the claims clearinghouse to verify insurance coverage in advance. Patients with active insurance are flagged as current within the appointment scheduling software, while patients whose coverage is inactive or cannot be verified are also flagged so the office can proactively contact the patient regarding their eligibility status before the visit.
