This is due to the fact that the monthly software maintenance fee will not need to include the cost of hosting, backing up and maintaining the EHR software. The biggest advantage of Server-Based over Cloud-Based is the speed. With Server-Based the server is at the customer’s clinic and running on the customer’s network.
