Ridiculously Simple – MD Logic Controlled Substances Electronic Prescribing

After recently passing the Electronic Prescription for Controlled Substances functionality in the first week of February 2016, MD Logic wasted no time transitioning customers over to what we feel is the best electronic narcotic prescribing software in the industry. As of March 27, 2016 the state of New York will make writing prescriptions on paper illegal and these prescriptions will not be accepted by Pharmacies.

Below is a recent email from a physician in New York that went live with MD Logic eRx EPCS:

Dear MD Logic Management Team,

I went live yesterday with Electronic Prescribing. New York State has made it mandatory that electronic prescribing for all medications, including controlled substances begin on March 27, 2016.

We have obviously been prescribing routine medications electronically through MD Logic for many years but New York has been E-Mailing me at least once a week with how important it is that I get all of my "ducks" lined up so that I will be able to prescribe controlled drugs.

I had significant anxiety and trepidation over the amount of work necessary for the transition.

I must tell you that the process of signing up to go-live was much easier than I anticipated and I completed it all, including personal identity verification and downloading of the software for my cell phone in less than thirty minutes. From there the process is “ridiculously simple”.  Prescribing a controlled substance is no different than a regular medication in MD Logic.  The only difference is that I have to have my smart phone ready. I enter my password and then literally I swipe my finger on my cell phone and the prescription goes through without a hitch to MD Logic and ultimately the pharmacy.

No surprise to me.The system for prescribing controlled substances, like everything in MD Logic, is seamless and very slick. Another great job! Kudos to the programmers and congratulations on making a seemingly impossible task quick and easy.
