David Slavit, M.D. is an ENT Physician that practices in the heart of New York City. Like many skilled surgeons that want to give back Dr. Slavit donates his time and surgical skills to treat patients with genetic birth defects through the “Little Baby Face Foundation”. Under the direction and supervision of Dr. Thomas Romo the Foundation works with a team of medical experts in the field of pediatric facial deformities and paralysis. These experts – Little Baby Face Foundation’s Medical Advisory Board—volunteer 100% of their time to evaluate and treat Little Baby Face Foundation children. The team consults on each child and coordinates surgeries to minimize the invasiveness and number of surgeries for patients and their families. When possible, multiple procedures are completed in single surgeries to reduce the number of times a child has to be hospitalized. Currently, the team is working on establishing protocols for this innovative approach that can be shared with other physicians.
