As the physician completes the patient visit and documents care in the exam room, a treatment plan is documented in the MD Logic EHR Software.
Depending on the specialty, there are assigned tasks that need to be carried out by staff members after each patient visit. The MD Logic Task Manager (Inbox) was engineered to automate the communication between the physician and their support staff. If the treatment plan includes diagnostic studies such as an “MRI”, a staff member will need to contact the patient’s insurance company and request authorization prior to the MRI being scheduled. By simply documenting “order MRI” in the patient treatment plan, a specific staff member or a group of staff members will be notified in their Inbox to schedule the MRI.
As a staff members reaches out to the patients insurance carrier for authorization, the staff member will document notes for this Task. These notes are available for all staff members to view. So if a patient calls into the practice to ask the status of scheduling the MRI, a staff member can read the most update to date information “Sally called Aetna yesterday at 11:10am and is waiting for a call back for authorization.” This is just one example of how the Task Manager feature automates physician requests to the staff.
The MD Logic software development team is redesigning the Task Manager (Inbox) for the New Suite of MD Logic Software. The goal is to further streamline the workflow using an updated user interface that is being designed into the New Suite of MD Logic Software. The New Task Manager (Inbox) feature will be available in the 1st QTR 2021.
