MD Logic, the leading U.S. provider of High Performance Electronic Health Records Solutions, is pleased to announce our recent participation in our 10th year as an EHR technology provider at the American Society of Surgery for the Hand conference. The conference was held in Chicago from September 6th-8th.
Tim McKenna, VP of Sales for MD Logic, attended the recent conference and found many interesting things in speaking with these physicians. “First of all we found that the majority of doctors that have implemented a competitive EHR were “not” happy with their decision. These doctors shared many things with me and my sales team regarding their overall dissatisfaction with their electronic health records solution. First and foremost was the fact that their EHR had slowed the doctors down in clinic. The result of the slowness had forced the doctors to stay late each night (1-2 hours) to catch up on electronic charting. These doctors were extremely frustrated in having to stay late each evening in order to complete the patient visits for the day. Some doctors had made the decision to “reduce” the number of patients seen in clinic each day. However, most physicians were choosing to stay late over reducing the number of patients seen in clinic each day as they could not afford to take the financial hit in lost revenue. Bottom line is that these physicians felt trapped and that all EHR systems were built the same.
“After listening to the same complaints over and over we introduced MD Logic to these physicians. We were able to demonstrate the speed and efficiency offered by the MD Logic World Wide EHR™ software. The first thing the doctors noticed was that there were “no” drop down pick-lists in the MD Logic software. These drop-down pick-lists are the “kiss of death” and unfortunately what all of the competition has designed in their software. They quickly found a real “touch screen” solution that was fast and easy to use. Seeing is believing and each doctor that took the time to speak with an MD Logic representative quickly learned that not all EHR systems are built the same.
“In speaking with the physicians I found that many of the hospitals had pushed their hospital systems on the doctors that use the hospital. These doctors are not experienced in implementing technology but they all quickly found out that these systems are “not” designed to keep pace with a busy clinic. It was great seeing the smiles from doctors as we handed them an iPad and demonstrated to them just how easily MD Logic would eliminate the need to use those “outdated” paper medical history forms.
"Doctors were amazed to see just how streamlined their clinic could be with MD Logic. All new patients would touch a screen (not fill out a form) to provide their medical history to the clinic. This saves staff time and eliminates the need to have someone re-enter the medical information from a piece of paper to the Electronic Health Record. With the MD Logic Patient Kiosk, the medical information is automatically populated into the patient's health record. Doctors were blown away to see just how fast and efficient MD Logic was in regards to total workflow automation. MD Logic leads the market in innovation with an entire suite of software solutions that include patient kiosk check-in, patient kiosk medical history capture, one touch e-Prescribing (fastest in the industry), the MD Logic Command Center and many other intuitive solutions designed to save time. All of our solutions are designed for “real touch screen” applications and are used on Apple iPads and other common touch screen hardware.
"It was great to speak to our customers that attended the conference. Our customers were very vocal in speaking to other doctors on the fact that “without MD Logic it would be impossible for them to capture all the clinical patient data required in clinic (including meaningful use data) each day." MD Logic has filled the void in offering the speed needed to capture critical patient data while allowing the clinic to see a high volume of patients each day.
“It is great to hear what an impact our software has on the lives of both the doctors and their patients. Our software development team continues to develop the next generation of EHR software that will enable our customers to increase productivity, reduce overhead and maximize profitability.”
