Automatic Conversion from ICD9 to ICD10

29 April 2015

As the October 2015 deadline to adopt ICD-10 codes officially becomes the new standard in just five months, all healthcare providers will be forced to transition their ICD-9 codes over to the ICD-10 codes. For many healthcare providers this transition will prove to be time consuming and complex.

MD Logic, the leading U.S. provider of High Performance Electronic Health Records Solutions has taken the complexity out of converting the ICD-9 codes to ICD-10 codes. Customers will have the option of having MD Logic automatically convert their existing ICD-9 codes over to the ICD-10 codes. The MD Logic EHR software technology can automatically create one-touch buttons for ICD-10 codes converted from the customers existing ICD-9 codes. Due the increase in the total number of ICD-10 codes available, healthcare providers will be forced to deal with a greater number of diagnosis codes that will offer more specific patient diagnosis.

The MD Logic ICD-9 to ICD-10 conversion software has been designed to make the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 a simple process for MD Logic customers. The transition to ICD-10 will create more diagnosis buttons for MD Logic customers but will create these buttons in the same workflow of their existing ICD-9 buttons. As ICD-9 buttons are converted over to ICD-10 buttons, the MD Logic software will continue to link these ICD-10 buttons back to the ICD-9 codes. Keeping the link in place will prove to be beneficial in the event a 3rd party carrier requires an ICD-9 code for reimbursement after October 2015.
